Positano is one of the most spectacular and famous destinations in Italy: a true gem of the Amalfi Coast, known for its charming boutiques, local fashion, and scenic little streets leading down to the sea. The town is best explored on foot, allowing visitors to fully enjoy its narrow alleys, stairways, and unique views.

Il Canneto is located in the “Canneto” area of Positano, which is also where the property takes its name, right on the main road (SS163 Amalfitana Road – Via G. Marconi 87). This location is especially convenient, as it provides easy access both to the town center and to other villages along the coast.

The property is about a 25-minute walk from the heart of Positano, and it is directly in front of the bus stops, with easy connections to other Amalfi Coast destinations such as Sorrento, Amalfi, Ravello, and Furore.

For guests who prefer a quicker option, there is also a local bus stop “Interno Positano” just across the road: it takes about 10 minutes to reach the town center by bus, without needing to walk the entire way.

From Naples Train Station
Take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento (approx. 1h10–1h20).
Once in Sorrento, take the SITA bus toward Positano / Amalfi (approx. 45–60 min, depending on traffic).

🚌 Important: When the driver announces the main Positano stop, do not get off.
Stay on board for about 500 meters more (1–2 minutes), then kindly ask the driver to stop at “Il Canneto”.

You will find our bar “Canneto” right at the bus stop, next to the property.

 From Naples Capodichino Airport
Take the CURRERI bus to Sorrento (approx. 1h15–1h30)
(advance booking required at www.curreriviaggi.it).
From Sorrento, take the SITA bus toward Positano / Amalfi (approx. 45–60 min).

🚌 Important: As above, when the bus reaches the main Positano stop, do not get off.
Stay on board for about 500 meters more, and ask the driver to stop at “Il Canneto”.

You’ll recognize the stop by our bar “Canneto”, right at the drop-off point.

From Salerno (by bus – SITA)
From Salerno, take the SITA bus to Amalfi (approx. 1h15–1h45).
Once in Amalfi, take another SITA bus toward Positano / Sorrento (approx. 50–70 min).

🚌 Important: Get off at the stop “Il Canneto” (not at Positano center).
After the main Positano stop, stay on board for about 1 km (around 2–3 minutes), then ask the driver to stop at “Il Canneto”.

You will find our bar “Canneto” right at the bus stop, next to the property.

 From Salerno (by ferry)
From Salerno Port, you can take a ferry/hydrofoil to Positano (approx. 1h30–2h).

⛴️ Please note: Ferries are frequent in spring/summer, but schedules are limited in autumn/winter and may be canceled due to sea conditions.

🚢 Arriving by Sea – Important Information
If you arrive in Positano by ferry or hydrofoil, you will disembark at the Positano pier, which is located in a pedestrian-only area.
Please note that cars and taxis are not allowed in this zone.

 
⛔️ Important – Using Google Maps
We kindly ask you NOT to set “Il Canneto” directly on Google Maps.
Doing so will direct you along a route with more than 600 stairs from the beach, which is very steep and strongly not recommended, especially if you are traveling with luggage.

 
✅ Correct Destination: Piazza dei Mulini
Regardless of how you plan to continue your journey (on foot, by bus, or by taxi), you should always set “Piazza dei Mulini” as your first destination.

Piazza dei Mulini is the last point accessible by vehicles and offers the easiest and most convenient way to reach our property.

 
🧳 Porter Service from the Pier
A porter service is available directly at the pier and is highly recommended to avoid carrying luggage up the many stairs.
Porters can be easily recognized by their uniforms .

 
🚍 From Piazza dei Mulini
From Piazza dei Mulini, you may continue in one of the following ways:

Local bus (Interno Positano line)
Taxi
In both cases, please ask the driver to stop at:
“Il Canneto”

🟢 From AMALFI
Take the SITA bus Amalfi – Sorrento (direction Sorrento).
Do not get off at the first Positano stop, called “Positano Centro / Sponda”.
Please ask the driver to let you off at the “CANNETO” stop, approximately 1.5 km later.

🔵 From SORRENTO
From the Sorrento train or bus station, take the SITA bus Sorrento – Amalfi (direction Amalfi).
When passing through Positano, do not get off at the first stop, called “Chiesa Nuova”.
Ask the driver to stop at “CANNETO”, located about 700 meters after Chiesa Nuova.

🛑 Important
“Canneto” is a request stop, meaning the bus will not stop automatically.
Please inform the driver when boarding and remind them again as you approach Positano.

🚌 About the CANNETO Stop
The stop is named after our guesthouse — easy to remember!
It is a small, unofficial stop, so please pay attention and communicate clearly with the driver.
Once you get off, it’s just a short walk to our entrance.
